One-On-One Nutrition Consultations
During this 1:1 session, a trained nutrition professional will assess your current diet and help identify goals to improve your diet, overall health, and well-being. If you are responsible for feeding others in your household, you’ll also receive ideas for enhancing their nutrition. Consultations can be held in-person or virtually.

Health Behavior Change Support
If you struggle to prioritize healthy behaviors (especially eating healthfully and exercising consistently), then consider attending coaching sessions. You will meet 1-on-1 with a national board-certified health and wellness coach and health and fitness professional to learn how to become more motivated, manage time, develop good habits, and improve your confidence in living a healthy lifestyle.
We are not currently accepting new coaching clients. Please check back in Fall 2023.

ProActive Nutrition Classes
All PAN Classes are held in FCS 187.
Our ProActive Nutrition (PAN) cooking sessions focus on using whole foods to create healthier versions of popular dishes. Whether you’re seasoned in the kitchen or brand new, we have something everyone will enjoy making.

WellCats Group Exercise Classes
WellCats group exercises classes are taught each week by highly skilled and enthusiastic instructors committed to providing safe and effective workouts. Our instructors will provide you with proper guidance so that coordination and experience are not necessary and will demonstrate modifications so that you can set your own intensity. Additionally, some classes will be live streamed via Zoom for those unable to join in person.

WellCats delivers events, classes, and presentations by request to departments or offices. Is there a well-being event or presentation you'd like to host? Fill out the request form and a wellness representative will contact you.

Other Benefits
- Subsidized Student Recreation Center Memberships
- All benefit-eligible employees qualify for a $25 discount per semester to the Student Recreation Center. Visit the front desk of the Student Recreation Center to purchase your membership.
- Total Wellness - San Marcos Discounted Memberships
- As a WellCats member, Total Wellness - San Marcos offers 20% off the first month and a 10% discount for continuing membership for group exercise. The discount is not available on our online portal so you must make your payment at the front desk. Classes are held at the San Marcos Activity Center.
- Subsidized Student Recreation Center Memberships

Wellness Time Policy

Regular employees are eligible for up to 2.5 hours per week of paid leave to participate in wellness activities. Supervisor approval is required to use paid wellness leave.

It must be requested in advance and specify the location and type of activity. You can use either the Faculty/Staff Application for Leave Approval form or other written format such as email, whichever your supervisor prefers. Supervisors are encouraged to make a reasonable effort to accommodate an employee’s request.

Employees should use code "Wellness Program - 3050" in SAP to record time.
